I share this tip every few months as I receive so many random connection requests from people I don’t know. Personalising outbound connection requests takes an extra 30 seconds but so few LinkedIn users bother!
On the desktop version of LinkedIn, personalisation is very straight-forward. Simply click on the person’s profile, click Connect, click on Add a note, then write a short personalised message. On the LinkedIn app, again select the individual’s profile, click on the More menu, then Personalise Invite. It’s that simple!
